How We Work

Contacting Our Team

At Frost Financial Planning, we can provide advice as a 'one-off’ or ongoing service. To determine your needs, our team will email you a questionnaire to complete and contact you to make a follow-up appointment. This appointment is often free of charge—we will let you know in circumstances where a charge is incurred.

Occasionally, our clients are better referred to another professional to best meet their goals—we’ll endeavour to help you with this if needed.

Our Advice Process

Whether you engage our office for one-off advice or ongoing advice, our process involves a number of steps:

  1. First meeting: This involves getting to know each other and analysing the information you’ve provided us with. Our goal in this appointment is to determine your needs and establish whether we can assist you.
  2. Gathering the facts: We’ll obtain all relevant details and discuss your attitude toward risk.
  3. Agreeing on the service: Our team will outline the services we can offer, inform you of our service fees and obtain your agreement to proceed.
  4. Preparing our advice: We analyse potential strategies, research the appropriate financial products for you and prepare a formal recommendation.
  5. Presenting the advice: We’ll present our written advice, explaining our recommendations and the reasons for them. We can also answer any questions you may have.
  6. Implementing the advice: Once we’ve accepted your instructions to proceed, we can instruct other professionals on your behalf and prepare applications/other documents.
  7. Ongoing service: To be provided if you retain our services on an ongoing basis. We’ll establish regular review intervals to report progress and make changes to your strategy in response to your circumstances or legislation.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • There is a lot of information on the internet for free. Why should I pay for financial advice?

Advice is much more than information. Good financial advice brings all the information together into a plan designed for you, your circumstances, and your goals. It can show you whether you are likely to achieve your goals and, if you are not, what you need to do to achieve them.

  • What sort of people benefit most from advice?

Research* tells us that the people who receive ongoing financial advice value three things about the advice relationship:

    1. Knowing what their financial future looks like
    2. Having a plan to achieve it and, as a consequence,
    3. Not having to worry about it

  • What about the costs?

The same research tells us that the benefits outweigh the costs. 89% of our clients who responded to the research survey stated that financial advice has provided them with more value than it costs.

    And 100% stated that:

    • The services provided by our office are meeting their needs
    • The advice has left them in a better position than when they engaged us
    • They have a better understanding of the retirement they should expect
